Gig Training Program Application

Application Deadline: Friday, November 21, 2025 (11/21/2025) by 5pm!

Gig Training defined: Gig Training is a short-term project that an organization or internal University department might require assistance with, but there isn’t quite enough work for it to be constituted as a full internship. Gig Trainings are classified as project-based learning experiences that could assist our students with acquiring more marketable skills.

    • Projects could be as little as a couple of days, upwards of two to three weeks in length, or just a few hours a day (although projects can span over a longer period, student participation cannot exceed 40 hours)
    • Projects should relate to the students’ course of study and provide the student with the opportunity to build career-related experience and develop usable skills for the future
    • Internal departments will be provided with the additional opportunity to offer mini-trainings as long as the training addresses a current workforce need
    • The Career Center will provide the student with payment for their participation in this program, whether it be project-based or training-based
    • Due to university policy, short-term projects are not eligible for academic credit
    • Student placements will begin on Monday, February 16th (02/16/2026) and end on Thursday, April 30th (04/30/2026)

    • Please note that all "host" sites will have no financial responsibilities when participating in this program!
